Kaitlyn King

Kaitlyn began her ballet training at local studios in Missouri and Kansas. She has attended summer intensives at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Oklahoma City Ballet. She began her professional career in 2013 as a Trainee with Ballet 5:8 in Chicago where she toured with the professional company, performed with the trainee company in outreach settings, and performed lead roles in performances with Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts. She received the merit scholarship for the 2014-15 season, and graduated the program with distinction in 2015. Kaitlyn joined Ballet Hartford as a Trainee in 2015 and continued to dance with the company for four seasons. While dancing with Ballet Hartford, Kaitlyn performed with the company in various main stage performances and festivals in Connecticut, as well as in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Hampshire. She performed works by Artistic Director Elizabeth McMillan and guest choreographers including Caleb Mitchell, Stephen Pier, and Michelle Thompson-Ulerich. She also had the opportunity to work with Artist in Residence, Silas Farley. She danced corps roles in “Swan Lake” and“Les Sylphides,” which was set by Hilda Morales. Kaitlyn joined Central West Ballet as an Artist in 2019 and was promoted to Soloist in 2023. She originated the “Promenades” pas de deux in “Pictures At an Exhibition.” She also performed “Midwest Romance” in “Pirates, Cowboys, and Damsels,” and Chinese and Russian Leads in “The Nutcracker,” as well as many corps roles. Kaitlyn joined NWA Ballet Theatre as a Company Artist in 2023, and is excited for her first season there.

Kaitlyn began her teaching career in 2014 at Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts. She has taught all age groups and levels of ballet. She has taught at many local schools over the past nine years, including Connecticut Youth Ballet, Brass City Ballet, and Central West Ballet Academy. She also founded and directed the ballet programs at Connecticut Dance Theatre and the Arts and Top Hat Dance Academy. Kaitlyn was guest faculty at the School of Sacramento Ballet’s Junior and Senior Summer Intensives during the summer of 2023. She is excited to bring her knowledge and love of ballet to the students at Turning Pointe Dance Center!
