Heather Campbell

Heather Campbell is Turning Pointe Dance Center’s Studio Owner/Director. She is a Louisville, Kentucky native. She has lived in Northwest Arkansas since 2016. She moved to NWA to obtain a Doctoral Degree at the University of Arkansas while continuing to grow in her experience and love for dance. Heather earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Design, Art, and Technology with a Writing Minor from Bellarmine University in 2015. She earned a Master’s in the Art of Communication from Bellarmine University in 2016. She earned a Doctoral Degree in 2022 in the Adult Education and Lifelong Learning Program at the University of Arkansas where she was a Graduate Assistant and Online Instructor.

Heather has danced for 28 years. She has trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Pom, Hip Hop, and Ballroom. She grew up dancing for renowned studios in Louisville such as Diane Moore Dance Academy, Dale Meyer, Dance Unlimited, 360 Dance, and Dreamz Dance Company. Heather was a member of 360 Dance’s 2008 UDA Junior National Championship Team. She competed on studio and Allstar teams for 12 years before graduating and starting college dance team. Heather was a Bellarmine University Dance Team member all four years of college. She was a 2013 NDA All-American Dancer. She was a member of Bellarmine Dance Team’s first ever NDA National Championship Team in 2015.

Heather began her teaching career as a Teaching Assistant with Dreamz Dance Company while in high school. She then became a Staff Member for Dreamz as a Recreational and Competitive Instructor in 2013. While in Louisville, Heather choreographed for many middle and high school teams, taught after school dance programs, and was the Assistant Coach for St. Athanasius Elementary Dance Team.

Once Heather moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2016, she started teaching as a Recreational and Competitive Instructor and Choreographer for Elite Dance Studios in Fayetteville and Berryville. She also became the Competitive Director and a Choreographer for Kaleidoscope Dance Academy where she worked for three and a half years. During her time with Kaleidoscope, Heather earned many choreography awards from numerous competitions, along with helping her students earn the studio award for kindness at nearly every competition attended.

Outside of studio dance, Heather has also choreographed for school plays such as Wonka, The Wizard of Oz, and more for Christian Academy of Louisville Southwest. She has choreographed three times for Universal Studios’ events in Northwest Arkansas as well. She currently choreographs and helps clean the competition dances for Elmwood Middle School Dance Team in Rogers, AR. She also currently choreographs and helps clean the competition dance for Providence High School Dance Team in Rogers, AR. Heather has continued to grow in her dance training through attending multiple conventions a year such as Nuvo, Tremaine, Hollywood Connection, The In10sive, DanceMakers, Radix, and many others. She believes it is important to lead by example and constantly challenges herself as a dancer, choreographer, and instructor.

Heather is excited to be living her dream of owning her own dance studio. She believes that dance is an expression of the soul. Dance can be used to tell stories through movement that can change people’s lives. Dance is a turning point to dancers and audiences alike. She cannot wait to see where this adventure takes the TPDC family next!
