Barbara Jean Wissing studied dance in Sioux City, Iowa. She started at Laura Jean Lefler Studio and then at Sioux City Music and Dance. She also danced with The Siouxland Repretoire Dance Company.

She started her teaching career in 1984. She opened Barbara Jean’s Dance Studio in 1991. She moved to NWA in 2005 and taught until retiring in 2017.

Barbara Jean has choreographed for show choirs and local Musical Theatre Productions. She is thrilled to come out of retirement to share her passion with TPDC Dancers!

In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, walking her Husky Dog ‘Blue’, and trips to New York while checking out Broadway shows, NY Yankee games, and lots of shopping and dining!

Barbara Jean is excited to continue working with the TPDC Recreational Dancers and Company Dancers in Season 4!
